I can't imagine a flower garden without the sweet smell of Honeysuckle.

I remember when I was a kid, playing at my neighbor's home, they had a Honeysuckle that must have been 25' to 30' tall. We used to pull out the blossoms that we could reach and suck the sweet nectar ourselves.

Now I know what gets the hummingbirds so excited about these giant shrubs/vines.

The flush of flowers will bring hundreds of little visitors to your border including bees, hummingbirds, birds and butterflies.

Lonicera (Honeysuckle) - Fertilization

Fertilization techniques for the Lonicera (Honeysuckle) are as follows:

Take a soil test to determine the PH of the soil. If one or more nutrients are low, use a specific fertilizer to bring up that level

Avoid fertilizing late in the growing season as application made during that time will force new growth and this new growth will not have sufficient time to harden off before the cold weather season.
